Event WiFi questions
Is dedicated venue WiFi cheaper than hotel in-house AV internet?
Often, but not always. In-house AV providers commonly pay the venue a commission out of what you’re charged, which pushes prices up. Get the in-house rate card and compare it line by line with the posted prices on the ordering page.
What does instant Meraki activation mean?
When your card payment clears, the Harris Production Services ordering page (which runs on GigLogix) calls the Cisco Meraki API, turns on the WiFi you ordered, and emails you the network name and password. If your event starts later, it switches on at the start date. Wired or VLAN services are passed to a technician to set up.
What if my hotel requires its in-house provider?
Then check your contract first. Some hotel contracts require the in-house AV provider or charge a fee for outside vendors. If you are not sure what yours says, ask the venue before you order dedicated WiFi.
Who provides the dedicated venue WiFi?
